Laila, Mass Ka Das Vishwak Sen‘s next film, was released amid controversy. Today, it was released in theaters. Check it out by reading our review.

The narrative

Many women in his neighborhood idolize Sonu (Vishwak Sen), the owner of a beauty parlor. But he finds himself at odds with SI Shankar (Babloo Prithviraj) and local troublemaker Rustum (Abhimanyu Singh). Sonu adopts the persona of Laila in order to avoid their threats. The rest of the story is about how this change happens and where it takes us.

Advantages:

It is brave of Vishwak Sen to take on a difficult position wearing a lady outfit, and he does a respectable job. He gives a decent performance as Laila.

Abhimanyu Singh does a good job in his role, providing some comedic relief, especially in the second half. His presence adds much-needed vitality to the movie.

Disadvantages:

The main flaw in the movie is its old and uninteresting plot, which is shallow and unfocused. With minimal originality beyond what was already disclosed in the teaser, the story follows a formula that is easy to foresee. Although there was potential for a compelling comedy, its attractiveness is diminished by the use of crude humor and superfluous dialogue.

Since the movie does not have any emotional resonance or a compelling explanation for his character’s metamorphosis, Vishwak Sen’s choice of writing is still dubious. The execution is subpar, and the screenplay is not well developed. Some of the content, such as antiquated ideas about complexion, feels superfluous, and the director’s approach seems aimless.

Akanksha Sharma plays a small part; the majority of her on-screen time is spent on unimpressive songs. The majority of the characters lack depth. The occasional allusion to Chiranjeevi seems hurried and superfluous.

Technical Features:

The writing and execution of director Ram Narayan do not have a powerful effect. Laila’s poor storytelling prevents it from being a better entertainer, even though a well-structured screenplay could have done so

  • The cinematography is mediocre at best, and Leon James’ music is unappealing. The editing does not significantly improve the film’s flow, even with a clean runtime. Although the production values are respectable, they do not greatly improve the viewing experience.

Conclusion:

All things considered, Laila is an uninteresting, foolish, and clumsily made movie. Despite Vishwak Sen’s best attempts, the film is uninteresting and unpersuasive to watch due to its poor writing, crude humor, and shallow content. Laila becomes a forgettable miss that scarcely merits its existence due to its lack of an emotional core, poor writing, and uninspired direction.
