Jabilamma Neeku Antha Kopama (Nilavuku En Mel Ennadi Kobam in Tamil) is Kollywood star Dhanush’s third directing endeavor, following Pa Paandi and Raayan. This youthful romance comedy, which starred a rather young cast, was released in theaters today. To find out if the movie has succeeded in entertaining Telugu viewers, read our review.
The narrative:
A young man from the middle class named Prabhu (played by Pavith Narayanan) aspires to work as a chef. After splitting from his wealthy girlfriend Neela (Anikha Surendran), he experiences heartbreak and loses interest in getting married. However, Prabhu’s destiny has other ideas, as he falls in love with Preethi (Priya Prakash Varrier), a friend from school. But when Prabhu gets an invitation to Neela’s wedding, additional turmoil breaks out because he still can not move on from his former. Is he going to the wedding? What caused Prabhu and Neela to split up? In the end, who marries whom? To find out the rest of the narrative, see the film in theaters.
Advantages:
With his directorial and captivating storytelling, Dhanush has done enough to make Jabilamma Neeku Antha Kopama appealing to young audiences. In addition to the romance, he manages lovely feelings like friendship extremely effectively. The comedic sequences are well-done and offer respectable amusement. The editing of certain of the second half’s scenes makes them appealing to Telugu viewers. Fans of Dhanush will have a great time at the theaters thanks to the film’s climactic mass scenes.
One of the film’s main highlights is the way Dhanush depicted friendship, love, and breakups in a number of scenes. Pavish Narayanan is one of the actors who gives a good performance. In single-take scenarios, his acting prowess is impressive. He also impresses with his dialogue delivery and dance moves.
Anikha, a young actress, also leaves an impression with her stunning appearance and acting. The actor who played Pavish’s friend, Mathew Thomas, is excellent in his role and brings a lot of humor. Despite having little on-screen time, Ramya Ranganathan is another stunning performer who dazzles the audience. With their careful performances, senior performers Sharanya Ponvannan, Aadukalam Naren, and Sharath Kumar give the film substance. The movie has cameos from Priyanka Arul Mohan and Priya Prakash Varrier.
Negative Points:
The main plot feels cliched, and the movie lacks a compelling narrative. Dhanush selects a well-worn plot that is not particularly interesting or novel. At several points in the story, the audience is left wanting more. Because some of the sequences were handled using the same pattern that was used in many rom-coms in the past, the film lacks originality and dilutes the whole experience. Furthermore, the soundtrack by GV Prakash Kumar is unimpressive, and even the background music seems to be purely instrumental. Even if the main actors give strong performances in some parts, there is undoubtedly space for development in the more poignant ones.
Technical Features:
There are some good production values in the movie. Technically, Dhanush does a good job presenting the movie. In a number of situations, including the singing, he showcases his directing skills. GV Prakash Kumar’s lackluster score is disappointing. Leon Britto, the cameraman, created beautiful images, while GK Prasanna, the editor, made mediocre cuts.
Even though Raayan did not have a compelling plot, Dhanush was still able to keep the audience interested. He treats Jabilamma Neeku Antha Kopama in the same way. Despite being a standard love narrative, Dhanush’s directing largely keeps the spectators interested. Overall, it is a good experience since Dhanush is able to make the young people relate to the plot and main characters.
Conclusion:
Jabilamma Neeku Antha Kopama is a typical love comedy that is nonetheless enjoyable. The youthful audience is mostly kept interested by Dhanush’s captivating writing, which takes a straightforward story and makes it come to life. Young viewers are likely to like the movie this weekend, save a few cliched parts.
